Microsimulation

A microsimulation is a traffic model that simulates the behaviour of each individual road user (motorised traffic, cyclists and pedestrians) and their interaction with each other. With a microsimulation, we create a highly realistic and detailed picture of an existing or future traffic situation. This allows us to test the impact of certain measures or developments on the real traffic situation. Does a roundabout work better than a traffic light-controlled intersection? Is the flow of public transport guaranteed? Do cyclists have enough time to cross? All questions to which MINT can provide answers with a microsimulation.
